Are the Troy Lee Designs Sprint shorts padded well, will they save you from some pain and are they worth the 80 bucks.

i have the moto short and from a first view, i can tell you that it will protect you way more then a normal short, after, i don't know for the sprint short... but the moto short worth it's 74 dollars

my friends got them, i'm pretty sure they're padded. your fine riding in normal shorts though, the money can be better spent elsewhere like on upper body armor, unless you already have that, at which point go ahead and get them. i think Jensonusa had some for cheap

They aren't padded. They are thick nylon/ripstop. They are fairly comfortable and much better than riding in cotton. I have the 02 or 03 sprint, the new ones have little difference.
