Chicago - The anti-depressant Prozac and its generic equivalents, often prescribed for patients struggling with anorexia, do not help prevent relapses of the life-threatening eating disorder, a study said on Tuesday.

actually, I wasn't joking.

I bet between prozac and marijuana, anorexia could pretty much be destroyed.
ok then. didn't come off that way.

i'm pretty sure that your idea wouldn't work, however, since the problem with anorexia isn't that the girls aren't hungry. instead the problem is in their heads, with their mental image being screwed up. marijuana makes you hungry, but doesn't make you stop thinking that you're fat.

It might confuse you about the issue a little. For a while anyway. Probably move from anorexia to bulimia. Not really progress.
actually, i think marijuana is an anti-emetic, too. keeps ya from throwing up :)

Isn't that one of the main reasons they give it to cancer patients? Increased appetite and supresses nausea?

So you're moving them from aneorexic to bulimic and then keeping the bulimic ones from actually purging.

That's the next best thing to actually attacking the root cause of the problem ;)

True, I've read medication combined with cognitive therapy is the most effective way to treat an issue, as well as minimize its chances of recurring. Learned optimism = good.

They'd probably forget about wanting to be thin too... This could be a miracle cure.
