So you had Fox upgrade the damper during service? Did they end up covering some of the cost under warranty? Maybe this is the way I should go with my 38.
I did have them upgrade the damper during service. They had also determined the Grip 2 damper problem was NOT a warranty issue, which I disagree with but whatever. They gave me a really good "cost" on the damper shall we say. If they had determined the old damper had a problem covered by warranty, I believe I still would have had to pay said "cost" of the new damper but the fork service would have been gratis.

Short story long, it may be worth sending the fork in for service and inquiring about a damper upgrade as part of the process. No actually, not "may be worth"... definitely worth trying. Especially if your fork could use a full service. Though to be fair, if it weren't for thinking the Grip 2 rebound was blown and wanting the upgrade, I would have done the service myself. And by "done it myself" I mean I would have had my buddy who lives down the street and worked at Push for years help me.

My go to shoe. So cheap
You don't have wide feet by any chance? If so do the shoes accommodate a wide hoof?
I have Ride Concepts and the toe box is a bit narrow and oddly low.
Crankbrothers Stamp fit me pretty well but they aren't super grippy and are useless in the wet, but are still a lot better than I expected from CB.

We need some true wide riding shoes.

I got new hiking shoes that are a true wide size and my god, what a relief. It's nice putting on new footwear and not feeling like you're wearing hockey skates.

I've spent almost $500 on shoes, only to go back to my worn in clapped out shoes, because I hate shoes that don't fit perfectly.

Sorry, end rant. Are there any true wide riding shoes, that are similar to five ten hellcat clipless shoes?

Yeah I'd love some riding shoes shaped like a foot, some Lems Primals or Keens with 5;10 rubber would be sweet.

I remember when I was trying to buy some part for my 34 or 32 from Fox and I got a "sorry, that's not available any more...but we'll sell you a brand new fork at 50% off", so the new 2023 34SC model had just dropped and I got a pretty nice "deal" on that. I dropped an Avy cart in the old fork anyway to "fix" the issue. So they sometimes do stuff like that...like when they were fixing all those screwed up 2022 DHX2 rear shocks, but this is usually because they suck so bad in the first place at making suspension...

Canfield bikes has some good deals.
Like always. Metal bikes too. The construction is great too, nicely CNCed stuff and good welds.

I say that because it seems their bikes are perpetually "on sale", I don't know how the business model works constantly selling them at $1600 or whatever, but great bikes.

My shimano GE7 are pretty wide. At least the footprint of the things are wide and they don't seem to be restrictive in that dimension to me. I bought em on a whim when I went down to ride in Seattle with Westy and others, having expected to get some other shoes in before my trip...but since that didn't happen I got those shoes in Issy and I've been really happy with them. No stupid BOA, good construction and don't slip when hike-a-biking.

Average but my 44’s were snug but my 44.5’s were loose in width. Going back to 44’s as i like a snug fit.

Did they fit to your size?
I won't go as far to say anything about that. IME, you gotta try on shoes. I tried on 510s, shimanos, fox, etc. This is what fit.
fwiw, my experience with Shimano shoes is that you have to use your euro size. I'm pretty consistently a 44 in most shoe brands. but for US sizes sometimes that's a 10, sometimes a 10.5. sometimes an 11 - but that's if they are really narrow. I have wide toes. Shimano have always fit best. I feel they're a little long too, but overall they've been good.

I have Fizik's now, and they are so generous size-wise that I was able to size down a half size...

We are in the same boat/size. Same shoes brand too!

I've never missed a fit going with UK sizing. If going with euro, I need to add two full points to Shimano shoes. Fizik ones are true to their euro sizes to me, but I'm consistently a UK 9.5 across all brands.

Ditto this. Same applies to Specialized shoes. I look at the Euro sizing on my 5.10s and use that to pick Shimano / Spec, not the US sizing. Shimano only does whole Euro sizes, at least for flats, so my pair of their shoes feels comfy but definitely a bit long.

For the Aussies - Fox Australia has their Union flat, clip and boa shoes on sale at the moment pretty cheap. Like $65 - $85 a pair. The boas are like $120.

Interesting colour options however...

The Fox Union is a pretty roomy shoe. I picked up a pair of the canvas flats from the Colorado Cyclist liquidation for $40 to try. The rubber's pretty good, better than Ride Concepts, but not as good as Spec or Stealth. The midsole is pretty soft which is why I don't use them (low arches + soft shoes + flats = pain), but I know a lot of people like that sort of thing. I'd say fit is similar to Freerider Pros but with more piggy wiggle room. True to US size.
