I've been following the tour much closer this year than years past (mostly for lack of a true favorite) and am pulling for Floyd b/c of his mtb heritage.

At the same time, I really wanted to see Hincapie do well after playing escort to Lance for 7 years. Maybe next year George...

I remember a MTB race here in PA that he did only about an hour from me. He was spanking the "PRO" competition and every time he came across the start finish line to start another lap he would ride a wheelie and wave to the croud doing a onehanded wheelie up a hill most had a hard time climbing with both wheels on the ground and both hands on the bar.

what a great achievement for him! I have always liked him! WAY TO GO FLOYD!

If he wins he needs to wheelie down the Champs. I remember reading an article a while back how when he first joined postal how he got in trouble for doing no handed wheelies during TTT practice.

It would have been awesome to have a TDF podium with all mountain bikers. Doesn't look like Rasmussen's gonna pull it though. I still think Cadel can represent.

Yeah it seems Rasmussen's been more focused on team efforts this year, although I think he's starting to sneak in those mountain points, since he was in top 5 yesterday and I believe he received a few more today.

I'm definitely rooting for Floyd for the overall, it seems he's the type of guy that the more you find out about him the more you like him. :p This year's Tour has been pretty epic so far with no real tour favorite from the start and Team Discovery falling apart. It's interesting how everybody was anticipating Discovery to be on top of the Tour with all the great potential for the overall win, and now they seem to be struggling more than most other teams. :( Sucks for Savoldelli for sure though, Phil Liggett said he had to get like 10-15 stitches in his head from that crash.

Salvodelli abandoned this morning after crashing on the way down the mountain to the hotel last night. Discovery is down to 7.
The guy renowned for his descending skills?

What next, a famous surgeon cutting off his hand with a butter knife at dinner?

I think he got punched in the face by a spectator. I'm not sure wrecking because of that is necessarily a reflection of his descending skills.

Bummer about the Falcon. Dude goes down hills like nobody else - I still get chills thinking of the time I saw a moto try to follow him down a stage in the Alps a few years ago. It was reeeeediculous.

Landis has great form, is riding intelligently, and his team looks solid. He's facing surgery that could end his career, and he says Lance never believed in him, so he's got a lot of motivation. He's always been an opportunist. There's a long way to go but it's looking good for him.

Popo's win today was awesome. Disco will animate the rest of the Tour, I think they just had a hard time transitioning into the mountains.

Levi...ahh Levi. I like the guy and want to see him win but his attacks never seem strong enough, and he seems to give up easily. He should have kept attacking yesterday. Today Popo showed him how it's done.

Front Range, dude...
Thats kind of f@cked up, Lance not beleiving in someone. If anyone in this world should beleive in others, its that guy, after no one ever beleived in him. I am starting to wonder if all the rumours that he is a prick are true...
Anyway, go Floyd!
