slalom is probally harder to time since you have to do math

Kyle, we need to build some light gate timers, and let them use those for the race. use some garage door sensors and a timer then just record the data, wouldn't be hard.

I've always wanted to use some photo gates and sensor and write a program to run it all. It's be cool to have a timing setup for training, and it's be pretty cheap.

they have some pretty simple ones that would work with pre-written programing, we use them in our physics class to time collisions and such

Ya each lane can be different lengths, you get one run down each lane and combine the times. fastest wins. racing against other people is an illusion
