admit it, you did it for the matching paint and stickers...
ah...you blew my cover.

I tried to fit my "plastic" boxxer internal in it but I guess I'll have to live with the Marzocchi dampers ;)

BTW...the third pic in my first thread should of gave it out!

JM is gonna love this...

The front end is too high...

and I bet that push shock is not as good as an Avy. As an internet engineer I can tell you with authority that Avys are the greatest shocks ever!

Also, who the hell rides with clipless pedals? Poser...

Yes. :)
And those red stickers look sick with the 888.
But I also like his setup as well.
Using the 8" fork with the E13 cups and a one inch bar.
I want to go that route next year.
I stilll have my lower Cane Creek Double XC on the frame...I'm thinking about replacing it with a my e13 zero stack?

Yeah, that is my plan.
I figured out that I can get my bar height right where it is now on the 7" 888 with the 8" version, with a couple of small changes.

Jeremy: I've got both of the e13 cups in, 8 inch fork, marz bolt on stem, go-ride crowns and a 1" handlebar and it feels almost exactly like it did with the WB fork I had on there as far as steering angles. The WB had an axle to crown meas really close to that of a boxxer (low and steep). I tried it with the big headset on the bottom of the headtube and it felt like crap. The fork felt more like it rolled side to side rather than steered. My only complaint with the current setup would be the length of the stem but it might not be that much of an issue with your small frame, especially if you're already using it with your 7" setup. The me the precision you get in steering is minor but noticable over using a standard stem to get a shorter length.

He has the remote reservoir, so that means you have the beginner/training curb drop model.

The steel spring does weigh quite a bit more than the titanium spring.
I think its between a half pound and a full pound lighter with the Titanium
spring. I'm sure someone will weigh them and report back.

FYI, It's my unscientific opinion that Titanium springs have about
50lbs more sprong to their spring than steel springs. So if you use a 550lb
steel spring a 500lb Ti spring would feel the same.

i believe they are more progressive. All springs have some progression the more they're compressed, so probably the huge coil spacing in Ti springs increases this effect. Otherwise material properties are relatively the same.

might just be me...but when I went from a Steel to Ti spring on my Romic, I felt like the rebound was faster with the Ti spring?

On my 5th Element there is only a 2.3 ounce difference between the steel and Ti spring.

Worth the $200?

I think not.

you sure? it has to be more than that!

I've never really weight them, but when I had my 5th (on the V10) I lifted up a Ti vs Steel spring and you could "feel" a considerable difference.

Agree there difference must be bigger than that. I have lifted a 9" ti 5th and I also felt a considerable difference to my 8.75 steel 5th. I still think $200 is an expensive upgrade.
