Personally I believe in spanking (I joke about the beatings). I believe there is a difference between abuse and discipline and that discipline can be physical without being detrimental. I also understand that other people do not share my views and I respect that.

I was grounded during my groundings quite frequently.

There are members of my extended family that would tell you my brothers and I were abused but I contend that we didnt get beat enough.

H8R, just stick to your guns your doing the right thing. She may hate you now, but the consequences of not being the parent you feel you need to be are far too great! You can be friends when she is 25 and out of grad school.


edit: We all graduated college own homes and 2 of us have kids now the one who doesnt is a Lt. in the chAirForce. I think we turned out ok
