What are my options? I don't want to run a chain tensioner and do not want to convert my hubs ti thru axles.

Then get used to having to adjust your rear wheel. Without a bolt on axle or chain tugs you will probably have some difficulty.

Chain tugs, that's what I'm going for. When i said "chain tensioner" I meant something similair to a rear derailuer.

I have had nothing but good luck using a QR axle with horizontal dropouts. Oddly enough I had my bolt on slip more than the QR has.

your kidding? That is awesome i have a new frame coming and thought i would def have to convert my rear wheel but i guess not...

Don't get too excited manhattan, I had huge troubles with my Roscoe when I didn't use tugs. Make sure you use them.
