QR20 hub compatibility

Hi.

I have a Hanebrink G fork with a 20mm front axle. I want to upgrade my wheelset. Will a QR20 hub fit in a 'standard' 20mm fork? From what I could tell, the QR20 (latest offering) has a quick release thru-axle, while mine does not, simply a hollow tube, and spacers on either side of the hub.

I'm thinking that I can use my 'standard' thru axle in place of the QR20 quick release, but I'm prolly wrong.

Any knowledge would be great. Thanks!

There are apparently 2 makes of Marz. QR20. One with a removable 20mm skewer and one with part of the shaft skewer attached to the hub.

The QR20 hub is 20mm International Standard, however. If you have the one with nothing attached to the hub you should be fine.

Edit: I see you wrote 'with hollow shaft' that is no good. But you could probably find some qr20 hubs for cheap on ebay (~40 us) if you were looking to build up a 20mm/Qr20 caompatible wheel.

You can actually make use of that hub, but it makes removing your wheel a royal pain.

The axle in that hub has "flanges" just inside the cartridge bearings to keep it centered. If you remove the two "spacer" pieces on the outside on either side of the center hub (accomplished with an Allen Key) then you can see the bearings. If you then pull / press out the bearings on one side, you can remove the "fixed" axle. You now have a hub in three pieces, but the spacing is the same as any standard thru-axle hub - press the bearing back in, pop the three pieces onto your new axle, center everything up, tighten down the spacers and you are in business. The problem comes if you have to remove the wheel on a regular basis (i.e. for your roof rack) - you have to take the hub apart in three pieces every time. If you are tossing the wheel in the back seat, you always have to find a place in your pocket for those spacers and the allen key to re-install them...
