Question about Avid discs

I was wondering if theres a difference between the front and rear calipers. If I were to buy a set of front and rear, could I use both of them as front brakes for two different bikes?

Thanks for your help. ;)

actually, now that i think of it, it might work, never really checked, but i would look into it first, there has to be some reason that they make seperate front and rear calipers.

I think it would work. Not positive though. They don't say anything about it on the Avid website?

It shall work fine. I bought a Avid Disc labeled as a Rear 7", and all I did was trade adaptors. You will need two front adaptors. A rear adaptor will do you no good on the front. The calipers are identical.
