I try to ride on my lunch breaks as often as possible, but I'm guessing that's not what you mean.

Generally, one ride a week is pretty good for me. My kids are 1 and 4, and my wife works 2-3 nights a week and all day Saturday.

i was in MMike's boat a couple of years ago, but w/ the boys 4 and 6, it's easier to get a bit of time carved out (eg, they can play over at a friend's house so it's not just my wife watching them full time, etc). that said, the days of two weekend rides are probably not coming back anytime soon. depending on how often i decided to commute (at least once or twice a week for the last couple of months), i can get in another day on the dirt, either DH or trail.

I have unusual working hours so I can ride every weekday. Doesn't always work out that way but my aim is to ride everyday. My best streak this year was 14 straight days. I get cranky if I go more than 4 days without riding.

They will give you a new wrinkle or grey hair for every copy N paste news article you post.

;)

Listening to you all makes me think (yet again) that maybe kids is not such a good idea for me.

If you *think* kids might be a bad idea for you, then they will be. :)
Meh, I need something to beat everyday. The cats are getting used to it. ;) And there are some days, like when my friends kids do something cool, or when Manimal or any of you all post photos of your kids riding and you all are having so much fun. On the one hand I understand that they are life changing and a HUGE responsibility, and all consuming and all that. On the other hand they look like mucho fun and all that.

What to do... what to do...

The wife and I are still undecided about kids. Times running out though and the parents (hers and mine) are getting on us to reproduce. If I was going to do it I should have done it earlier. If we had a kid today, by the time he's my age I'll be 70. My dad is only 56 and I am really glad that he and I can spend time together and do stuff together. I feel like I'll be short changing the kid by not giving him enough time with me. See, I am a horrible parent and I am not even a parent yet!

It's all your fault SS... you and that blasted Richard Simmons!

Really I say that they are a bad idea because that level of responsibility scares the s h i t outta me. Shoot, I can barely take care of myself! In reality I think I'd make a fine daddy-o. It's just a very scary prospect.

Wouldn't trade it for anything. Kids are better than bikes. Mine are anyway.....

1-3 times per, but not long rides anymore. Living in the desert, working 14-16 hours a day puts a crimp in your pedaling. Working on more saddle time. The wife recognizes when I am stressed out and usually kicks me out the door for a ride! Working on getting the whole family pedaling...

4-5 Times per week usually. i live close to the trails and i get to bring lil manimal along and write it off as parenting time :D

the wife is way cool about it and i make sure to offer to watch the kids a lot so she can do her thing. (7 years of marriage and i'm still not sure what "her thing" is... :D )

I ride to work 3 days a week on average. I try to get some dirt time in on the way to work at least two of those times. I also try to spend 1 day out of the weekend on a bike either with the kid in the trailer, or on the trail.

I get lucky more than I ride, I'm cool with that.
