So, I'm getting my first SS frame next week, it's on order. I am not sure what gearing I'll go with for my local area. I have a new sram cassette that hasn't been touched in a year and is a lower end 8 speed one I wasn't going to use. I took it apart to use with spacers to play with gearing ratio's. After doing this I have seen a bunch of threads discussing the damage they can do to the free hub body. I don't want to tear up the free hub but I don't want to order cog's I may not be suited to use.

Am I okay to run these cog's for a few rides to get it dialed, or at risk of damaging the free hub body immediately?

EDIT: nevermind, just ordered a Chris King 18T cog, spacers, White Industries ENO crank and Sram SS chain from webcyclery :)
