Will any crown race work with a King headset? I want to use one fork between two frames; one with a King, the other with a Cane Creek. Any issue with this?

Why don't you measure them?
The newer Kings have a 40mm outside diameter; the older ones are 44mm.
You didn't say which Cane Creek you had. The S-5 and S-pro look pretty close. Some of the others not so.

The shape can differ aswell, just get another king...
