I'm in the process of building a 6" rig for DH purposes. Next change is the fork, any info on how the Fox 40 RC2 is with the 6" conversion done to it or am I better off going with a 36 Vanilla RC2?

What I have at the moment, rear shock was replaced today.

I'd opt for a 36 for that bike.
Edit: Sorry I don't feel like going into detail as to why, but just know it's the right answer.

Agreed!!! I wouldnt reccommend a 40 even lowered on that bike

As much as I love that fork, I would go woth the 36. I ran a 40 at the 6" setting for a while and with proper sag, I could almost bottom out just standing on the bike and pushing down
