I want to get a new bike. I have been looking at the TREK fuel series, and the SANTA CRUZ chamelion. Could you give me a little help please?

You're going to need to be a lot more specific.

The Santa Cruz Chameleon is a fairly burly hardtail frame. The Fuel series is a super light full suspension XC rig. These are different animals here - what are you using it for? Have you ridden full suspension bikes before? What kind of information are you looking for - suggestions, problems, encouragement, or what?

We still need information like your weight, how much you ride, how much you want to spend, how long you've been riding. With more information we can better suggest a bike, otherwise there are just too many bikes out there to suggest something for someone we know nothing about. So with more info you'll get more feedback.

OK Im sorry. Im still new to all of this. I am 6'1", 188 LBS.
I have been riding XC for about 3 years. I am starting to get into downhill. I like my bikes to be light. I ride about 3 to 4 times a week. I dont want to spend more than 3 grand.

Would this be your only bike that you would be using for everything? Or just downhill?

Well if you're looking for freeride and downhill bikes stay away from Trek they don't have anything you're going to want. However Santa Cruz makes the bullit and the v10 that would work very well. Also check out the Iron Horse SGS series of bikes, they are great bikes for the money.
