I have only been to Beacon 2 times and both times was with someone like me who had no idea where we were going. Both times i parked at the golf course and rode up. I'm a cross-country rider, is there a better place to park? Is it a better way up to the top? Don't get me wrong i like to do some climbing, but i'm just trying to get a feel for the place.

You can knock off a 9 mile loop starting and finishing at Esmerelda, but it does help to know the route which is kind of hard to describe.

For an XC rider, that is as good as any place to park. Or you can park at the Camp Sekani lot, just go in through the gate on Upriver drive to get at the eastern portion of the trails. Also, Beacon = climbing for XC riding, no way around it. Beacon's trails definately need a guide to get to know them. Our club will be doing rides there later on in the season.
