Nope. I have the same problem on my 2002 Z1 FR.
I pm'd Brian Peterson and he said that there may be air in the ecc. Set the ecc lever half-way and pump the fork about 20 times. This should get the air out. Next, engage the ecc. If it stays down, you're all set. If it creeps back up, send the fork back.
I did that test a few times just to make sure, but the fork kept creeping back up. I will be sending the fork back soon through my lbs.

is it normal that the ecc creeps back up about 1/4" then stops????
