2004 Chaparral Banshee. Was wondering what kind of frame this would be called?

I've always thought of it as a downhill frame, but I want to be sure.

oh and also if anybody could find a spec sheet including stuff like bottom bracket size and such that'd be great.
Oh and what rear derailleur would be good for it? My shifter does 8 speeds and the rear cassette has 8 speeds (they're off the same bike), but the shimano rear derailleur from my old bike doesn't fit on the Banshee.
