The kid Downhills "in the woods"......WTF do you want me to call it? Can't you guys think for your selves instead of me having to lay it all out for you?

Then, obviously, this fork will be fine for you...so what's everyone arguing about?

The fork *does* spike...and you probably won't notice or care, just like the current owner. Ride it and be happy, and stop trying to convince everyone of something that's simply not true and exceeds your knowledge/experience with bikes.

The spike will manifest itself as you thinking that your suspension simply can't soak up certain hits...when you finally upgrade to another fork, you'll see what they mean. In the meantime, ride happily on a Jr T like many of us have and some of us will continue to do.

And cut the crap, too. Either listen to people or don't, but (for the millionth time) don't get angry when people don't tell you what you want them to.

I have been agreeing with people, and asking for advice.

ALL that I have said against someone in this thread is that the kid says it does not spike, and he is a bike mechanic, he rides and fixes different bikes every day, Im say he more than likley knows what he's talking about when he says he doesn't have a problem with the fork spiking. How do you despute that? Maybe it's that some forks that marz have let out don't spike as much as others, or at all? Maybe we don't know EVERYTHING that goes on inside of the marzocchi company?

Get what you can afford and let your skills catch up.

This is exactly what I am doing. Like many here I have been riding for years, blah, blah, blah... I have ridden many forks, blah, blah, blah. But I do also know (and ADMIT)this: My skills are not so advanced that my riding enjoyment is diminished by having the Boxxer Race on my DH9. It was what I could afford even though all the reviews I read, and RM threads I read by using the SEARCH function said that it is an inferior fork to the Shiver, the T (Junior, or Monster), and others. Why? Because I want to have fun riding my bike and I couldn't afford a better fork at the time. Now that I have ridden it I will (After the broken leg heals) ask some Monkeys that are local to me if they would let me try their bike and their forks. Then I can compare in the real world and make the decision as to what fork is best for me. I am not going to buy anything based on the advice of bike mechanic, no matter how experiencd and knowledgable they are.

From reading your posts, I would say that you are probably at or below my own riding level. (This is not an insult, just an observation.) If this is the case I would suggest you forget about "spiking", especially since you never thought about it, or knew about it till someone told you about it, and just ride and enjoy. I would bet that you would never notice any spiking no matter what fork you rode. When you are racing in the pro catagory and missing first place by a few tenths consistently then go ahead and blame your equipment. Until then RIDE and develop your skills.

I hope this helps a little. Now go work on your manners BOY.

maybe you simply dont know anything and refuse to shut up and learn from experienced people who know what they are talking about and actually understand the technology.

A JrT that doesnt spike is called a SuperT and costs 300$ more....do you see the logic yet?

buy the damn thing, not like you're bright enough to appreciate things either way...

btw you're banned from mtbr hahahahhaahahaha(cough)hahahaaaaaaaa(fizzle)

I'd be happy to "despute" that. I know a TON of guys that work in bike shops who frankly don't know their ass from a hole in the ground. Just b/c somebody gets a paycheck from a bike shop absolutely does NOT mean that they know what they're talking about. I do 100% of my own repairs on my bike, for the simple reason that every time I took it to a shop, I'd have to either teach the bike mechanics what they needed to know to work on it, or I'd have to go back and fix all the stuff that they f*cked up while working on it.

Anyway, think of it this way -- just b/c somebody has "X" job doesn't mean they're qualified in any way for it. Look at G.W. Bush, for ex.

FWIW, all the people in this thread who warned you against the Jr. T know their sh*t. I know my sh*t. I've owned a few Jr. T's (yeah, I'm a little ashamed of that) and yes, they do spike. Deal with it.

If your bike shop guru is such a genius, why are you hanging around on the Internet listening to a bunch of computer-bound tools tell you things you don't want to hear? Go ride your 35-lb, sub-$1000, no-sag-having, super-bunnyhopping, non-spiking superbike and leave us the fvck alone, kid!

wouldnt it be a bit of a pain in the ass to capitalize the first letter every word in a post? and why?
ACTUALLY WHEN I WAS USING SATIRE ON MTBR BY CAPITALIZING ALL OF MY LETTERS WITH THE CAPS LOCK KEY ON IT AUTOMATICALLY LOWER-CASED ALL OF THE LETTERS EXCEPT FOR THE FIRST ONE. I THINK IT'S ZEDRO'S FAULT.

I think he's the most thickheaded person I've come across, but he'll figure it out one day, and if he doesn't...well...it's let's say it's not like he'd know the difference. I do think that mechanic is a total loser for trying to take advantage of him, but on the other hand, like I just said, it's not like he'd know the difference.
