I am building a new rear wheel for anticpated DOC, I plan on running a standard bolt on rear derailure and was wondering if the saint rear hub will work with the DOC dropouts, as well as the derailure...Do I have to use a Saint derailure? I know that this is alot of trouble and some will say why not just run a standard hub, but i am a fan of the Saint.

My other question is about the splined rotor interface, i have m4's and plan on running them as well, i know there is an adapter made by problem solvers to adapt a 6 bolt to a splined interface, does anyone know if this will work with saint? The spline diameter isnt larger is it? Thanks guys.

Why are you a fan of the Saint hub, when it's the cause of all your headaches? Especially on a DOC, a hub with more engagement points (ie, anything except Shimano) would be ideal. I know it's not what you want to hear, but by the time you screw about with the axle and rotor, that time, effort and money could've put something alot nicer than a Saint hub on the rear of your bike. Even an XT hub with solid boltup cromo axle would be a better choice IMO.

Yes, it would work. What you would need is:

1. 10mm thru bolt (maybe from Hadley?)
2. Saint rotor (there is no adapter for the larger spline)

The hub is okay (has 36 pts of engagement), it's kind of heavy though. If you are not going to use the Saint derailleur then it is also a little pricey; it comes with the axle bolt which is $53 if purchased separately which makes it an okay buy if you need the Saint axle too. Also, you need the spline tool (I think its ~$15) to install the rotor, this tool comes free with the Saint front hub. Last drawback is that the Saint rotors are pretty expensive.

Now you say i would need the 10mm thru bolt, does that come with the hub from shimano or not?!?!?! a bit confused

The Saint hub comes with a thru bolt that the derailleur mounts onto. Without the derailleur, you would need to come up with some kind of nut for the end of this bolt. Shimano uses a finer pitch thread than is typical for an M10 so it is not as easy as going down to the hardware store.

You should get either a King or a Hadley. Hadley has numerous axle options. The King also has a heavy duty axle option that is nice.
