one of the BB cups on my diablous BB is pretty much seized up. if i put the crankarms in and spin them, the arm moves on the piece of plastic that covers the bearings. Is there any way to fix this or does it happen over time (the BBs only like 8 months old) and do i need a new one?

The Raceface bb are not that great, and this is common.

The easiest solution is to replace the BB entirely. Another solution is to find a Phil Wood dealer, who makes replacement bearing kits, but it is unlikely.

Agree there RaceFace bearings are terrible. Where I work we have had so many come back its frightening there still selling them. To be honest your lucky to have had is last 8 month. You can get them warranted if there in a good mood. But we have started just sticking Shimano BB in now. Be careful with the cranks though as well. Keep a eye on the end bolt as if they come lose and you don’t catch it you will destroy your cranks in no time at all. Try to avoid taking your cranks on and off as well as they also appear not to like that much.
