I just trashed my 3rd set of Raceface Prodigy DH Crank arms. :banghead: :banghead: The pedal on the right side has gotten banged and striped everytime. The first set were the originals on my 2002 Giant DH Comp, so I assumed it was just usage. I got a used set replace the original from a buddy, but they didnt last a day. So I broke down and bought a new set and they lasted about 10 days of riding in 3 weeks.
So, I need a good replacement and I want to change my bashguard and chain guide set up. Any suggestion would be great and where the best place to get the parts would be greatly apprecaited.

Ride Fast, Take Chances!

well honestly my truvative hussefelts are pretty damn good for being so cheap, but for a nicer set, go for the hozzefellers** or diablous from race face both very nice cranks

Yep, soft aluminum cranks suck. Ive ripped the pedals out of 3 sets of prodigys.
Um.

I don't know about you guys, but when I wreck a part the same way more than once, I move on and don't buy the same part again.

Call me crazy.

To the original poster: buy something with steel pedal inserts, like the Diablous cranks.

Hey all,

Thanks for the advise! Especially to you Keen, I would never have thought of that, but if you ever ride here at Whiteface, you know the rock grow here every year..........lol

we just had to warranty some cranks for a guy that had the steel inserts (RF something or other) just the other day. RF was quick to warranty them, and upgraded the guy from ISIS to X-Type. apparently 35ft/lbs is the required torque for RF cranks with the steel insert.
