I know this isnt the right place to put this but knowone will respond in the Northeast forum
Since the DHD series will not be taking place this year I have know where to race. I am only 14 but just got my new Canfield Brothers F1 and have been looking forward to racing a lot this year. I can only think of Norba Finals at Mount Snow and Plattekill. Can anyone give me some information on races in New England, and some more info about Plattekill. AND does Mount Snow only host the Finals this year? thanks

Plattekill is once a month, schedule hasn't been released yet but it's *usually* first weekend of each month. Think Mount Snow is only doing the Finals this year...

Don't forget Mountain Creek's US Open on Memorial Day weekend. Fun times and great prizes (20k cash prizes, free frame/fork other schwag for amatuer winners). By far the best race I did last year.

Not sure, think there are some races up in Tenney Mtn in NH... Someone from Boston might be able to help more on that.

there is a race in april in pa check hcor
us open

Killington in VT should have a race in july
There is also an arrow head dh challenge in july in claremonth nh
Also a race at sunnapee in september check efta.com for those two

I heard that there might be something going on at sugar bush in vt possibly, to substitute for the NH Tenney Series

my understanding was that Dan of DHD was looking to do a series like the old root 66 (ie, different locations for each race, not one host mountain), and would include sugarbush VT and attitash NH. at least that's what i remember hearing at one point.

From DHD's website:

DHD - NEWS

Latest News

In years past DHD Promotions has been a title/financial sponsor operating outside the box, we will not be titling a series in 2005.

However Sugarbush in Vermont and DHD have been in negotiations on a 2005 Series, bringing back some of the old Trail 66 Courses and more as the mountain will handle trail building, prizing, and be the main organizer and DHD will manage the series for Sugarbush. This is a good thing as it takes a financial load from DHD lets us focus on the timing, data, marketing and promotion....our expertise. We will also be focusing on our core business and will continue moving forward with new and exciting promotions and marketing ventures in many arenas.

So DHD will hopefully continue to provide and manage another outstanding series, which has had a great following with the racers from all over New England, we will be continuing the business we have been known for over the years like event management, web design, graphics design and much more.

DHD Promotions has been approached to manage a series with Sugarbush, VT and is very interested in our concepts. DHD can then offer an outstanding 2005-management contract. As we have the experience to bring great sporting events to our fellow Racers and Spectators alike in addition to our own race team:

Check out bustedspoke.com there is a discussion on 2005 NE races. I'm really hoping for lots of races at Sugarbush, Killington and Bolton since I'm only an hour from each.

Yeah, we actually have it pretty lucky around here. I'm psyched about the prospect of a 66 series. Last I read on BS was that the mountains want to hold races, but do not want other mountains to be part of a series. I think that is plain stupid. A series would attract a much larger block of racers than a bunch of stand-alone races. They need to realize that skiing/snowboarding and DH MTB are totally different activities. We just happen to like the same real state.

This one?

""Reading Racing is sponsoring this unique race. The Fire Tower challenge is a team race. Teams are made up of two riders. Race will have a "LeMans" start. Riders will race to 4 check points. Once you and your teammate arrive at a check point together you may leave to the next section and race check point. If you arrive before your team mate you must wait to exit together ( so pick a fast buddy). The course will consist of some of Reading Racings finest trails. The course is over 4 miles long.
The race course will start from the Fire Tower on Skyline Dr, Reading PA. and end at Antietam Lake. The course will lead down the "jump trail" and head into the "Network". The " jump trail" speaks for itself and "the network" is filled with rocks, drops and tight single track. From the" Network" you head down the" Lullabye" trail. The "Lullabye" consits of flat single track. There will be several road crossings in this course. The "lullabye" heads to the "Hans Ray". This section has a steep shoot that takes you to drops, a step down jump and gnarly rock sections. Once out of here, you are headed to the legendary "Dane's Run". This trail alone is a full blown DH race course. "Dane's Run" has 7 drops in it, nasty rock gardens, and a steep gnarly chute. This trail is very fast. "Dane's Run" will lead you to the finish line. Hopefully your team mate was able to stick with you. First team across wins $$$$.
I know people are going to ask what kind of bike? I would say anything from a strong 5inch freeride bike to full blown DH Bike. I personally would ride my 5inch bike with some modifications, and I know that several of the Reading Racers will be riding their fully tricked out DownHill Bikes. Your Choice!
So pick a good teammate and show up. This will be a blast--Reading Racing style.

Oh, by the way, you better be in some sort of shape for this. If you actually ride your bike when you ride you will have no problems. There is less climbing in this course than last years XC?Freeride race. Ripp it up!

all the droogs hang out there.

And it was like for a moment, O my brothers, some great bird had flown into the milk bar and I felt all the malenky little hairs on my plott standing endwise and the shivers crawling up like slow malenky lizards and then down again.
