Railbiking is a thing you can do, and it looks weird as all get out to me. I have so many questions.

Can they be ridden not on the rails?
What's the rail setup look like i.e. how do they keep the wheels on the rail?
Do you even need to steer?
Are they always folding bikes?
What's with the flags?
Are you only allowed to railbike if you have a mustache?
Why the suitcase and not something lighter?
Holy shit did they really just pedal right over those kids at 11:30?
What is the best rubber compound for railbiking tires?
Can the track width be adjusted? Does it ever need to be changed?
Is the gift of an armadillo carcass really considered a great honor?

I've got a healthy tache right now, but not sure I want to play chicken with oncoming trains when I'm stuck on the tracks.

:stupid:

Interesting way to see some out of the way places I bet.
I am not making fun at all, I agree with you and JBP that it looks like a really cool adventure. Totally different than anything I've ever done. Would have to be in some far away land though, right?

It's still kinda weird, though. NTTAWWT.

There was a group of guys in the southwest that built coasters specifically to ride down rail lines through mountains.

Looked fun as shit......as long as you don't mistake an unused line for a used one and/or encounter a damaged rail section on an unused one.

And how many people have died from hitting a train?

Looks like the front wheel sits in a cradle that goes on the track and locks it there. Then I bet the rear just kinda follows. I saw a video of some guys that made go cart ones with engines.

whatever now I want one. I bet there is thousands of miles of abandoned rail out there.

Ha- Dick was a big hit with the kids

I'd watch all of that vid if YouTube had a 5X playback speed, 2X is still too slow.
