Here's a thought... Have the riders judge. They all do their runs, then once everyone gets a second run (if they want it), they all watch each other's runs, and they score every rider except themselves. Those scores are then averaged to get the final rankings.Brendogs run at a 76 hahahahahaha
Also I am convinced that Sorge has actual blackmail on the judges because it's the only explanation for the extra 15+ points he consistently gets added to his boring ass runs.
Top three guys are all pretty deserving right now though. Storch should be up there too probably though, as should Brendog.
At this point just get rid of the judges. They don't add anything to the event.
That sounds like some pinkocommunosocialism to me. This is event is held in the great Amurikan state of Utahr not Commipinkoland. Here's a thought... Have the riders judge. Have their sisters/wives judge the runs then? That sounds like some pinkocommunosocialism to me. This is event is held in the great Amurikan state of Utahr not Commipinkoland.
To me it looked a pretty clear statement by Rampage, that they literally don't want him there.
That score means he doesn't get an auto invite to next year.
They also made a very clear statement, that they see the event as "Audi Nine's" or Darkfest on (heavily modified) natural terrain, marketed largely for the insular flag wavers.
why not let the viewers decide? make an app, every viewer can rank the runs from 1 to x as they want, job done. give it a small time window after all the runs are done, then publish the ranking. riders can do a 2nd one if they think they can improveHere's a thought... Ah yes the general public are well known for their impartial and non-herd mentality views....why not let the viewers decide? make an app, every viewer can rank the runs from 1 to x as they want, job done. give it a small time window after all the runs are done, then publish the ranking. riders can do a 2nd one if they think they can improve
Maybe it's not dead, it's just not at RampageRefusing to watch given the reporting of Fairclough being robbed so badly on his score. When he feels the need to put out a short in between runs saying eff it, I'm going home, freeride is dead.
I thought freeride was about trading your X-box for a bike to go huck off shit and not worrying about going fast or wearing matching kits.freeride is dead.
It's kinda funny how all the polls, even for best bike, are all so lopsided for Fairclough
He should change his name to Brendan RobbedcloughIt's kinda funny how all the polls, even for best best, are all so lopsided for Fairclough
y u no just "NotFairclough" or "UnFairclough"? or maybe "Norbsclough"?He should change his name to Brendan Robbedclough
To be honest, it's still worth watching. Save Sorge and Semenuks run, any of the top 5 runs would have won any previous rampage that's ever happened. The level of bananas in this year's top 7-8 was on par with the amount needed to feed 800 gorillas for a year.Refusing to watch given the reporting of Fairclough being robbed so badly on his score. One of the Pinkbike boys agreeing with the public and not making a snarky comment about how the internet is always wrong and how we should all drink corporate kool aid? Is this opposite day?
This is about dead on with my opinion. Semenuk won, Brendan did get robbed, TVS frontflip was huge, tough to figure out where to slot everyone but Brandon was the most well rounded. The judges have a tough and thankless job - I don't see any way to judge this event without pissing off a lot of people. That's just how it is with subjective competitions. They're not even comparing apples to apples in some cases.
I was thinking Godziek should get with Brendog and start a robbery victims' support group, but looking at the runs again I'm less sure. It's a little boring to see Semenuk win again but hard to say he didn't deserve it. His run was bananas top to bottom. I think some of us are desensitized to what that guy does. Tricking everything makes massive shit look like child's play.
For sure Brendog should have scored higher though.
this 100%.I think some of us are desensitized to what that guy does
It doesn’t help that Semenuk had such a calm demeanour when describing his riding - Brendog does a good job in his videos both saying and showing he’s on the edge of control. Semenuk is a little robotic, he doesn’t play up the challenge of doing a flip whip over a giant gap, he actually makes it sound feasible that anyone should be able to do it.The judges have a tough and thankless job - I don't see any way to judge this event without pissing off a lot of people. Just gotta give it 110%I remember hearing a discussion about a football player turned mentor and he genuinely couldn’t understand that some of his skill level is simply outside of the reach of other athletes.
