This probably isn't the place to post this but not too many people use chainguides on the XC forum.
I'm doing a 12 hour race this weekend and the closest thing I've got to an XC bike is my Banshee Rampant (only bike under 30 lbs I own). It won't take a FD and I've got an e13 LG1 guide on it but my current ring is too big for this race. Instead of buying a 32t SS ring I figured I'd use a 32t Shimano XT ring I've got in the parts bin. Is it a bad idea to use a ramped ring up front with a guide?
