Had home made falafels tonight. Grade C- The Tahini was very good, grade B. I need a finer blade for the food processor as the Falafel mix came out too coarse but the taste was great Grade C . Store bought whole wheat Pita pockets grade D- Gonna make my own next time.

So I made Falafels the other night. we used store bought pocket pitas from Sprouts, they were horrible. So tonight I baked up some pocket pitas from scratch. I still have tons of Falafel balls to cook up and Tahini Sauce from yesterday so tomorrow its Falafel night

So tasty! Have done our own in the past, but no longer.
We've a Lebanese deli a block from my house. Just can't be bothered with making my own any longer. They were a godsend when we bought the house/gutted the kitchen!
Nearest decent falafel is in San Jose. Falafel Drive in, on San Carlos and it is the gold standard of Falafels but that's 30 miles each way. All the ones around here are just falael balls wrapped in a pita like a taco

Oh yeah. I'd make my own if it was that far away.

Our market is the same place we get our harissa and some bulk spices and so on.

New place.

Had the Natsu wrap. Very tasty though the Nori wrap was a bit overwhelming and the mango was a touch too sweet. Next time I will probably try the Umami bowl or the Natsu again as a bowl with the omission of the mango.

tl;dr - it needs more salt/umami, less sweet, and something crunchy for texture.

I'd ditch the nori wrap and do a thin tortilla, and grill it a bit post wrapping.

Obviously this is based on my tastes - YMMV.
