i mean i don't doubt that its gonna be a fantastic fork, but i had more sticker shock over the weight than the price.
Ya, I figured my thrown together multiple companies, non parts optimized frankenfork would be a good bit heavier. Go figure.
Oh, and my garage build, with SKF green seals and burnished bushings is running at about 1300 US pesos.
That weight and price is hard to take. Its performance better be better than sublime, as there are options.

Bike seems solid, good initial reviews... but those colors...I cant... all black is fine, but not on a build I would like.

Ari sounds like a Jewish sports agent, so not a huge improvement. The new logo has legibility issues as well - the downtube graphic could say RAI or ARI at first glance.

Nukeproof make such rad frames. Thoughts on Steel v Alu? Been on a Stanton Switchback for the past couple of years and it just blows my noodle how good it feels, and it’s pretty much one of the main reasons I sold my full sus (aside from moving into my van next month and wanting lower maintenance). Had a couple of Cotic BFEs which were notably more harsh in comparison (and the new gen frames are way too long for my taste). Only Alu hardtails I have ridden have been DJ frames.
Which version did you buy, the 4130 or the Reynold's one?

Steel is generally quite a bit heavier and if built for abuse rather than lighter use can actually end up being a stiffer harsher ride than Alu. eg. COTIC BFe MK1. Personal preference but since hyrdoforming became mainstream alu has generally looked nicer too and many steel frames don't really lend themselves to UDH dropouts if that matters to you.
Alu is generally better VFM. My Nukeproof frame above is fairly similar in geometry to your Stanton (10mm diff in chainstays) .The Asia built 4130 version is £200 moar, UK made 953 £500 moar RRP. The Nukeproof frame actually cost me £250 so £450 cheaper than the Asian version.
I had most of the parts kicking around already so total spend was less than £500
fork and front wheel donated by a friend, 2016 pre-boost vintage and unloved but newly serviced it's sweet (bar a small amount of stanchion discolouration). it's at 130mm so need to fit a longer airspring at some point. Not sure what I've got kicking about but reckon the sweetspot geo wise is going to be 140 or 150mm run stiff

Steel is great for a mig-25, it’s cheaper than Ti and wont melt like alu. Also if you dont mind the 1/2 hr endurance.
