Almost impossible to test in the field like the video above, but a front/rear balance test is probably more informative than weight alone.
Theres a reason why some riders are adding less weights to the bottom bracket area, and it’s not simply to increase weight.

Ha! Wow, that thing is going to feel like pedaling thru sand all the time. Gearbox + Idler + A belt?! Its going to be like 80% efficiency.

Edit: I didn't look at the link, very cool a kid built that, impressive.

I reckon a belt over an idler would actually work better than chain to be fair. Not sure why - could just be I need more coffee this morning. At any stage it would be quieter which is a nice plus

So the Germans are dictating your handlebar roll? No way!

My last German made frame had a hot date with the angle grinder.

That’s exactly my point. The highest they make is 6, but we ALL know the scale goes to 100.
They just don’t want you to know that.

However, a 180cm ‘jump height’ would be goddamn impressive on that stem, on an e-bike going 25KPH.

I wonder why the suspension is different, for same models, but different frame material? Why not just make them the same?

I thought you meant layout or something, rather than the builds which are price driven. That's always the compromise of a full build though isn't it. More annoying to me was the Norco frame only options I was browsing don't have the top level suspension option.
Yeah true, but everything else is exactly the same.

Price difference between alloy and carbon Deore bikes is $2100.

Price difference between alloy and carbon frames, which have the same shocks, is $1600.

So are you under paying for the alloy build or over paying for the carbon one? The price difference is even greater on the XT builds. :D

I read somewhere that the weight difference between alloy and carbon is 2.5 lbs. So that might have something to do with the price difference? that and carbon is the moar premium option?!

either way, this ticks all my boxes and sits at the top of my "next bike" list. starting to save my pennies now...
