No Idea on the Crank,but is it not very close to Race Time? What the Fuck? So he is starting the season on a Proto? Why put that Gay Ass Prototype Sticker on the Frame? The only reason I can think of is ,“Legal” problems could occur?

dunno if it has any affect from a performance perspective, but the angles at which the swing link is both leveraged by the seatstay and engages the shock LOOK... bad? seems like you're putting all sorts of unnecessary force into the pivots, which *feels* like it would be inefficient? pure speculation, but it seems having your driving forces aligned at an angle closer to perpendicular to the lever arm would be better. where's the enginerds in the house?

So yeah, the shock layout seems odd to me too, and it looks like the air can is almost(?) touching the downtube. Prototype indeed...Really hope Aaron's new tires are amaze balls, as it looks like he might need it.

Different use, but linkage bearings on my Tracer have lasted better than those on any of my prior rides.
you sure about that? IFR isn't on shimano. also those cranks have a drive side bolt cap. that's not how shimano stuff is configured. i have heard TRP is working on new drivetrain stuff.

The crankset still holds some serious Shimano vibes to me...
if you zoom in on the original pic on the tech rumors thread you can see that's a self extracting crank bolt. that is not how shimano sets up their cranks.
edit: i've also heard that TRP is working on cranks.

IFR runs e13 wheels IIRC, so if its not TRP its e13. but those don't look like anything e13 is currently offering, and e13 uses a different style crank bolt
I've heard its a new Middleburn crank. Hopefully they will bring back the square taper!
The amount of information on that bolt pretty much points to TRP. Their RDs almost have the user's manual printed over them

Yup, having to unscrew and remove a panel every time you want to make a shock adjustment still qualifies as a PITA in my book.

I am just an armchair engineer, but isn't an open half-tube structure with a big hole on the structural side in an area like this weakening the frame massively?
