Airplane=Pitch down, get airspeed, you be flying again.

Helicopter=Rotor loses speed, you die, no way to recover unless your helicopter has an ejection seat.
I've spent exactly 2 seconds ever thinking about an autogyro but I thought they could autorotate like a normal helicopter?

Either way they are dumb. An ultralight is so much simpler, and the one thing I would want to avoid in hobby level aerospace is complexity.

I'd have to go pull out my notes from rotorcraft accident investigation, but there is something that inherently screws you in a pusher gyrocopter, vs. a puller (old gyrocopters). Had to do with the thrust line relative to lift.

I keep going back to this thinking "WTF!?". It's an "AMG" Cigarette boat...can hit speeds of 80mph. That is not a huge deal these days for those boats, they've been able to hit that and above for a long time...but 6 freaking supercharged V8 outboards to do it is insanity. Just why?

Maybe to go 100mph?
I dunno.

Top speed is irrelevant when the owner will float around in the thing at 5 mph.

Same for the AMG G63 that they probably also own. Those things see less dirt than most bro jeeps.

True, true.

Why would you want six outboards instead of two inboard?

I don't follow boats much just seems to me that outboards are not for going fast.

Inboards are exponentially more of a pain in the ass. Need to get the drive out of the water for storage or work? You need to lift the whole damn boat. Much more difficult to work on climbing around down in there, and you will pay for it. The fire hazard is in the middle of the boat instead of the far end. And the engine takes up a lot of the available space. However, if you are floating a yacht or commercial boat, you want a diesel inboard.
