I find the potato presents more questions than the knife:
A) Why leave the plastic wrap on the tater when slicing?
B) Why buy an individually wrapped potato?
Looks like a weekly supply of potatoes for an average russian family these days and they may have wanted to leave some for later? The knife may be made from the same steel as their armor.

I have the same knife. I used it to chop frozen chicken thighs and bones recently. I don't buy plastic potatoes, so I am not worried.
Wouldn't be the first time for me.
