Most of all our shit gets to all of us like that. The point is we know how to do it better now. It’s stupid and fuckstrating that idiots keep doing it the fuckhead way, and locking the fuckhead way in for another 20 years we don’t have.

What's the better way for shipping?

On a per ton basis cargo ships are some of the most efficient means of transport. Roughly equivalent to 200MPG per container. And there are efforts to include *sails* to improve fuel burn.

Way back in 2019 Kawasaki built it’s first green hydrogen powered ship, and there are now several green Ammonia powered ships. (Ammonia is NH3 so essentially a hydrogen powered boat too). MAN manufacturers Ammonia shipping engines now and the NoGAPS project in Scandi is a fleet of such. There are a couple of Ammonia oil and natural gas ships on the way (weird but I’ll take it) and Maersk is building/may have built their own first Ammonia vast container ship. This is the way.
Also seriously there are some people experimenting with automatic vast spinnakers for container shipping to reduce the fuel costs.

This is true, however as a group shipping represents a significant % of worldwide emissions. We need to decarbonise that sector and green ammonia is looking like the winner at the moment.

We should also stop buying stupid shit that needs to be shipped in a little box, put in a bigger box, put in a big metal box, put on a big boat; just to use for a bit until it breaks and throw it away.

So what you're saying is built locally?
