Don't get me started Cali was the promised land when I live in little ****ty 7000 people rainy boring town in Denmark. We were so far away from anything that we had no clue what a BMX bike was when the local bike shop got one. At least not before ET came on and then we still had no clue what to do with it as there were no magazines to buy or the one only channel there was run by a bunch of old hippie socialist who had no interest in American culture. Okay I feel a little better now.

I remember dreaming about upland as a kid on the east coast.

Fiola, Blyther, Dominguez, all those guys were like gods to me.

Anyone else remember Hugo Gonzales?

I hated when they let bikes in. They did build a sweet BMX track in the back, though.

In the late 70's, you couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting a park in California. Heat Wave in Modesto was my home park, but Upland was my summer park. Grandfolks lived in San Dimas, so I was there a month or so every summer.

Free parks rule, now.
