Yeah - the Spring Crk Pass -> Stony Pass section is really something else. Best done as a point-to-point shuttle, IMO.

Contemplating what it would take to split into two, by using county rd 36 (wager Gulch Rd) to/from Carson Saddle TH.
Making it a 22mile first half and then a 31mile second half finishing in Silverton.
Otherwise that's a 43mile P2P mostly above 11k going from Spring Creek to Silverton.

I'd suggest splitting it at Lost Trail Creek, mainly because the W Lost Trail Creek descent is so much fun. Climbing it to get back to the CT might be a bitch, though.
