At work we had a supplier that had questionable quality control. After they shipped a rather large piece of equipment one of our electricians found a 200 Amp 480V cable where someone had driven in a few drywall screws into it then wrapped some bare leads from the end of an extension cord to it. I can only assume someone needed an outlet and didn't have a long enough extension cord and had to get creative. gErMaN EnGiNeEriNG!1!

There is a good chance the picture above was just a joke and wasn't connected to anything, that shit was real.

I don't know, the insulation on that blue cable looks like it's been warming up a little...
If that giant cable was getting hot, the much smaller downstream cable would be plasma. Perhaps the photographer sucks at composition, but it seems like the top of the picture was purposely cropped to avoid showing what was connected to the top of the breaker, almost like there was nothing there.
