Joking aside, why you no backpack?

It would seem I will backpack, I went for a walk with the skiing pack I bought a few years back but it's too freaking hot on my back.
I found a TT Modular Pack 30 on special with no camera insert. It has Velcro all over the inner back panel and sides so it will be easier to make an insert, I don't think the stock one would work with my 150-450mm lens on the body anyway, I'd have to go up to their 45L bag and I can't afford that, it's silly money.
