Why not pressure? Quick clots are generally for massive loss of blood as in artery or bomb damage. Our WFA teacher said these are generally not worth the clot risk except in massive loss of blood situations where that overrides the risk of clots.

Only marginally off-topic and I will not post the NSFW picture, but it amazed me I could have such a big cut down to the bone (literally, seeing bone) like I did last year where I had to go to the hospital and almost a year of rehab and it was barely bleeding at all. I wanted to punch the guy in the face on the trail that said "we need to get a tourniquet on that". I did not let that idiot do that, since there was no reason and that would have been dangerous as hell.
