Had an oddly good sleep, bike ride then an hour or so of weed removal.

It's looking pretty good, more people are joining in which is good. Would be 90% native plants in this pic.
I haven't ventured further up but the gov has been sending out helpers to remove Madeira vine, they got 100kg of tubers on the last day's effort.

I assume half of those are poisonous, half razor sharp and half cancerous.

Just the weeds, Wild Tobacco, Deadly Nightshade, Moth Vine.
We don't have any dangerous native plants around here, just Ticks and sometimes Spitfires but I haven't been stung by one of them since I was a kid, they'd drop out of trees and sting the shit outta you.

You don't see many moths now because of all the light pollution messing with their navigation.

I want a truing stand and spending $400 if I might be unemployed soon would be a bit silly.
I remembered all the solar stuff I told my boss I'd make use of. Me thinks there is a ghetto truing stand in this scrap metal.

Definitely piece something together. Bikers tend to overcomplicate this particular tool. I always thought I’d need or upgrade to a fancy one, but I’ve been using the same once since I was 14. It’s been just fine… even with the advent of through axles… I made it work.

Looks like they could use a migration over/under pass along that stretch of hwy...
I heard that the overpass is the better solution. Apparently prey species are reluctant to enter the cave, tunnel even if it is wide and they can see the other side. Makes sense to me on the surface. Any idea if this rumour is true?
