I'm never late. Always early. I just crouch in the corner with a hunting knife until someone flips the lights on.

Assuming the tree is still alive it looks like they cut the wedge then tried to cut from the pie cut pinching the saw, instead of properly back cutting above said pie cut. Or so I am led to beleive. I still prefer to use an axe.
It looked like quite the scary drive, 12000RPM is pretty nuts.
EDIT- These guys didn't have a good reputation on the internet, no idea what's true or not.

To be fair, Tonya’s style always looked straight out of the 80s. I see how that might be confusing for people that didn’t live it.
