Doctor told me I needed to walk more to alleviate my back pain. So I've been wandering around my 'hood:

Oops, assumed the main pivot bolt was galled.

Nope, just a crazy amount of red Loctite.

Now off to the bolt shop, anything looks remotely close will get used.
I hate this frame and the shitful CC headset used as a main pivot, why use a headset with drop in bearings, whhhhhyyyyyyyyy?

You want a nice German frame mate. None of those shenanigans.

Thats also a hella-long bolt for a shock, the kind that tend to bend IME no matter what material due to being so long (leverage). Also, thats not a two-part joined at the middle is it? If so, thats horrific.

Yeah the shock bolt is long, the bike only does XC, it's not bent yet. It's a fully threaded bolt so it will probably just snap when it does go.

The pivot bolt setup is fine for what I do, not sure how much shear force that bolt would see, maybe a bit.

Edit- The two piece bolt in the pic is the main pivot bolt.

IME, the use doesn't really matter, the leverage on the bolt is the important part. I remember when Rocky Mountain went to those "3d links" and Turner was doing it all along, wondering if it was necessary....but then I had two bikes with long bolts, the Azonic and the Foes, which constantly bent said bolts, no matter the spring, shock, lack of actual bottoming, etc. I think it was also Iron Horse that had some sort of bizarre asinine (yes, my favorite word) bolt-together shock hardware where it actually was two separate halves that bolted together in the middle, you wonder how that even got on the drawing board (by accident?). I bent some bolts more randomly on other bikes, but it's always seemed to be related to the design. Since then, this has been a significant feature that I look for, ideally the shock hardware and bolt are as narrow as possible, no matter the application.

seriously how do people work on the ground
I had to drill an 8mm stainless bolt, I'm not doing that in a bike stand.
Plus I'm used to it from normal mechanic stuff, doesn't bother me, as long as I'm outdoors it's okay.

It's working indoors that I couldn't do.

Balance Bands only did one thing.

These do all of the things!

Revitalizes all the cells in your body (Far infrared effect)
Contributes to promoting blood circulation and metabolism (Negative ion effect)
Controls blood pressure and autonomic nerves (Extremely low undulating effect)
Made of Tourmaline

Unique gem stone, tourmaline is a birthstone of October together with opal. Its crystallization has a permanent electrode. This gem not only balance the ion content they also maintain the alkalinity of water and balance pH.
When negative Ion contacts moisture, it discharges instantly. So water surrounding negative Ion be easily electrolyzed, Water molecule (H2O) be electrolyzed into hydrogen ion (H+) and hydroxide ion(OH-) â At that time, hydrogen ion be pulled by â electrode (negative electrode), neutralized and become hydrogen gas after mixing with emitting electron, finally water be alkalized. â And Be stable as weak alkali state (ph7.5;best state for the human body)Also hydroxide ion be changed into hydro-kisil ion (negative ion; surface active material) by combination surrounding water molecule.

I think the only picture I have of it is in the Pics of you riding a bike thread, still had a Totem instead of a 888 then.
It's a 2009 Ion, had a Bos shock which I was too scared to send in for a service so I got a Swinger 4 way for like a hundred bucks new.

Edit- It was a third hand frame that was built up on the cheap because I put 8k in to my Corsair build and I was poor, so yellow hubs and white rims it was.
