Time for a post vittles nap.
These guys rocked up, had a look around, helped themselves to leftovers, ate, then napped all on our rooms patio. Couldn't have cared less that we were there. Me, being the dumbass I am, just sat there 3 feet away amazed with my gob hanging open just watching them raid us.

No rabies in Costa Rica outside of bats (vampire) and a few cows bitten by bats since the 80's.
They do carry other things though including a nasty nematode and salmonella.
After they rocked up the shock and awe wore off real quick after they hoped up on the table and stole some leftovers. That was a little too close and familiar and I will say rabies did cross my mind. After that it was remote viewing through the patio door. Didn't know about the lack of rabies until talking to staff later and was told about no rabies and that they are well known on the resort.

modern air poppers are the same, but less yellowed plastic.
I have a newer version of that.
