During the past several years I had assumed that LA was simply the best doping athlete in a sport filled with dopers so that at least the playing field was somewhat level, but after reading so many stories and accounts from past teammates and associates in the know, it seems like maybe US Postal and LA owe more of their success to superior doping more than anything else. I'm sure LA is still a freak of nature but maybe he's not the freak that I thought he was, I wonder if he'll ever have that revelation, or is he so sunk on the hubris.

I pulled for him and the whole team's success during the tours. But I've never met a roadie I actually liked. I pretty much only like the psychotic sprinters like Thor, Boonen, etc because they are closer to my mentality.
Never identified with any other roadies really. But the one thing that made me like him less was the split from his first wife. Something about it stunk worse than this whole other doping drama from the perspective of being a real man.
Did I mention I don't know too many successful roadies with an awesome personality...did I?
