My Father served on an LST on D Day...it is possible that one one the ones in the broad panorama of the landing area is his...my Dad could be in that picture. Wild is right.
Although I know what LST he was on on the 6th June, we have never been able to nail down what beaches he was at...he never talked much about that day, and he has been gone for over 20 years now. I was there last June, and to see those beaches and the towns and fields those kids fought through is sobering and sickening at the same time. Greatest Generation indeed.

I am not from the city. I like to really experience it by staying at the Bentley and going for a walk at midnight over the bridge to queens. The Falafel truck next to the train station is fabulous. The view is great both ways....
