I was just thinking it's getting close to time to start planting seeds. We normally have them indoors for the first several weeks to avoid snow into May.
First Sunny weekend in April. Seeds in the ground. We've got another two or so weeks to worry about a frost, but the seeds are sheltered underground so no worries.
Several years now doing it that way and no problems so far. Works well. Far less money and work than seedlings inside.
Obviously your mileage may vary depending on your growing season and climate. It works pretty well here though.
Normally mid-May before we can plant seedlings outside. Living at 7500ft, it can easily still dump snow that time of year.
No earlier than mother's day is what I was told years ago. Has been a very good rule of thumb for COS.
