She's the rights new Hillary.
Please, the focus on her is proportionate to the fawning of her by the far left.
"Future of the DNC", constant media darling status etc.
Hillary was actually a competent (if incredibly unlikable) politician that demanded respect; AOC has yet to prove herself in any way.

Even the left is calling her out.

But yes, let's make any critic of a brown and/or female politician a default racist/misogynist.
The attacks on her clothing etc deserve that label but her race and gender don't give her immunity to criticism.

God I hope Harris isn't serious about running.
I can totally see a whole field of democrats running, diluting any sense of unity, and handing the next election to another trump-publican.
The DNC is tracking to tear itself apart going into 2020 elections, just like the GOP leading up to '16.
Look at the pelosi drama (misogyny!, ageism!), freshmen pols demanding seats on top committees etc.
The old guard won't let go, the noobs won't wait and moderate dems will tell them all to fuck off.

Cortez is the inevitable pendulum reversal to a president*/party that has built it's brand on being afraid, very afraid, of these things:
  • brown
  • woman
  • Democrat
  • Socialist leaning
The only thing missing from this pentagram of pure evil is atheism.

"Proving" oneself sure isn't an impediment to the GOP. They are after all, lock stock and barrel in full with a guy whose only experience in 70+ years of life is running business into the ground, never accepting responsibility for anything, and unchecked pussy grabbing. The right doesn't get to use the "experience" argument anymore. Criticism is fair, but the right doesn't have any out side of "Hur dur....soclizms!!!!". She's not even in office yet, but Fox and Fascists seems hell bent on making the next election cycle about her. Cortez is literally a checklist of everything the GOP has whipped up their base to be scared of - and she won. She's embracing the social tenets of government that Republicans have decried as socialism and it's resonating. She's a swift kick in the nuts to the Republican identity. I can't wait to hear about her email.

I for one, am reserving judgment until such time as she accomplishes something in office. But until then, I think it's about good god damned time the left got someone willing to breathe a little fire. The "fawning" is a result of people who are tired of milquetoast neo-liberal bullshit from the left. The democrats have tacked to this imaginary "middle" for so fucking long they have ceded the entire battle field to the flat-earthers on the right. Democratic congeniality is nice on paper but has been horrific for this nation, enabling the absolute worst instincts of the right to go utterly unimpeded.

You don't need to unload your GOP tirades at me, I've been voting Dem nearly your entire life.
My dog knows why she threatens them, it's pretty fucking obvious.
However I don't think winning an unopposed election, after defeating a primary candidate who no longer accurately represented his constituency, is a swift kick in the nuts to anyone but the Dem establishment.

I too will wait to see if she makes a mark for herself.
My prediction is that she'll soon be eclipsed by her peers and will be merely a footnote in the 2018 election.

Trading congeniality for perpetual outrage will damage the DNC internally.
One can be nice and effective, but dems struggle with the latter because they can't set or deliver reasonable expectations with voters.

The progressive agenda won't happen quickly, if at all, and then the cannibalism will start when people start pointing fingers.
I'm already seeing it locally as people push back against Moulton (office 1mi from my house) with his pelosi antics.
He went from hero to zero nearly overnight and has been eviscerated in local town halls.

The last thing I'd ever want strapped to my bonnet is 40 pounds of metal that can become detached in a crash and hit me in the face.

Paying off hookers to influence elections is a simple private transaction.

That's so down-to-earth.

Well don't you set up a Caribbean corporation with hidden ownership for each of your simple transactions every day??
