i used to have a tacoma. when it got recalled/totalled, i didn't buy another one because they were stupid fucking expensive. and frankly i didn't need it at that point in my life. since then the times i've needed a truck i've either borrowed a neighbors, or just rented one from home depot (which is only about 5 minutes away).

I am waiting for the Prius WT model...

Until then they should sell these with cars instead of trucks.

You'd really like the frame extension box I built to support a tow bumper and the rear of the bed for my short wheelbase suburban commuter.

Of course I have no earthly idea what my real, safe towing max is now

That thing is badass

I've done stuff to it. Used to be my dry weather daily driver when I had a commute over a mountain pass. Sadly collects dust now, no fun to drive here.

A keen observer may notice fish tank pump parts I used to help fuel injector it, because if I can't make it janky, I am not interested in it.

FUEL INJECTED TRUCKSTER!!!!!!

those look like store bought throttle bodies? That's the OG stock motor?

I'm assuming those fish take parts are EFI pressure rated?

A previous owner put twin motorcycle carbs on it. Could never get it tuned properly so I put some F.I. throttle bodies on it designed to replace Weber DCOEs. Took a while to find an intake manifold Volvo made for the webers. The fishtank valves are used to get a vacuum signal to the ecu which isn't normally done with individual throttle bodies.

Rebuilt ported heads machined for higher compression on an otherwise the stock engine. It was rebuilt at some point in time with +.030" cylinders. Guessing it has 400,000 miles on it.

Sometimes I think of getting rid of my truck, but I dont know what would be a practical replacement for it. SUV with a utility trailer? Wagon and utility trailer? I don't relish the idea of putting a deer carcass in the back of a vehicle, nor do I particularly enjoy towing a trailer.

Not to mention, we still have designs of going back on the road, so I dunno. I'll be selling my Fit here shortly, as I'm not driving enough to justify keeping it.

Heh. I never looked at any marketing... I'm not even sure what "rigid off-road lamps" even means. :D

I had a coworker who after getting his first real job bought an F150. He lived in an apartment in the city. Would call you a fag if you commuted in a commuter car. I bet he suffers from economic anxiety now.

Avalanche you say?

One of the crew has one. (although getting long in the tooth)
He loves it, perfect combo of car and truck in his opinion.
Has bikes in it 2-3 times a week, camping gear a few times a year, garden stuff for SWMBO, some engenemeer stuff for work etc. He is actually one of the few people I know with a truck that actually uses all 4 available seats and the bed on a regular basis. Another friend,I don't think has ever used the bed for anything more than groceries and returning empties.
