Front Range, dude...
Statistics are inherently flawed...whoever commissions the study will show you only the numbers that benefit their cause.

This statement..."The problem is the government. They're not here to help... They're here to make healthcare more expensive, college more expensive... everything they touch is more expensive..." is so ridiculous coming from a Tea Party icon. Is the government Socialist or Capitalist? Make up your mind, you profiteering bast@rd.

This moron lives near my hometown...so glad I dont live there anymore...

don't know a thing about him (1st i've heard he's a tbag icon), but i wander over to 0hedge every now & again, and i don't see the writing there to be heavily steeped in agitprop. and all things being equal, if there's a private sector solution & an equally available gov't sol'n, i'll go private 9 out of 10, for the single reason of accountability to the free market

so i wonder what's going on in that graph?
- did our population suddenly shift toward elderly, who now choose to retire?
- were corps recently given the economic incentive not to grow/retain workers & instead hoard cash?
- is the gov't having difficulty filling available jobs b/c their standards are too high?
- is banking so over-regulated as to stymie small business loans, so now people have to turn to established businesses, who are labor-saturated & cannot hire?
- is the available work force incentivized to stay at home?
- are more people returning to non-labor activities, like volunteering or pursuing a[nother] degree?
- are corps gaming the system in their favor to stay profitable, and the corollary is extreme profits so they can dodge 'paying their fair share' (ref: GE)?

but when you say his statements are "so ridiculous", that tells me you believe somewhere approaching the opposite: that instead the gov't is functional, compassionate, & benevolent. i guess i don't see it that way.

seems to me with the 'correct' governance, we wouldn't have this mess. (we'd have a different mess, sure)

way to mail it in. did you use USPS? might explain why it didn't arrive yet
Or he could just mention the deregulation of US financial markets most of the world is still cleaning up from. There's no public or private failure that compares to that.

It's fairly simple.

Corporations have bought the politicians and are now effectively more powerful than governments.

We value and reward making money more than making useful things.

We the corporations are willing to
  • Steal, murder and rape in order to profit.
  • Pay executives inordinate sums to govern this pillage.
  • Finance media designed to lie in order to sell more crap and cover our asses.
  • Shift operations to loci with least rules and lowest cost where it's easier to use and discard people while poisoning land and air.
  • Consciously and willingly destroy the means of making a livelihood for most people.
  • Warehouse large segments of the population in prisons.
  • Identify and engender hatred towards groups of Evil Others (immigrants, gays, Muslims, women, anyone with no means).
We the sheeple are willing to watch sports, video, and similar swill and get drunk/stoned in order to avoid observing and understanding a world in disarray.

As you were.

1. Key pipelines capable of transporting at least two or three wars’ worth of natural gas from Russia to Europe
2. Rampant overfishing problem—let’s not forget about that
3. You are here
4. Place that Mark stopped by when he did study abroad two years ago. He didn’t stay too long, but if you’re looking for a hostel I’m sure he’d be happy to recommend one to you. He loved it there.
5. Future site of memorial dedicated to hundreds of massacred Ukrainians
6. Region that, in an ideal world—and we’re speaking totally hypothetically here—Putin would like to annex and control
7. Arbitrary, haphazard line drawn in 1954 that will almost certainly cause the deaths of thousands
8. Size of Texas
9. Appleton, Ukraine: Largest ethnic Midwest population outside Wisconsin
10. Dying embers of the Olympic spirit
11. Location of most plentiful ukrainium reserves
12. Besarabsky Market: This vibrant, tourist-friendly hub in Kiev is likely what most of the fighting is about
13. Crimean city currently caught in crossfire between uninformed commenters on CNN.com

From a "friend" on facebook.

Oklahoma is the only state that Obama did not win even one county in the last election... While everyone is focusing on Arizona ’s new law, look what Oklahoma has been doing!!!!

An update from Oklahoma :

Oklahoma law passed, 37 to 9 an amendment to place the Ten Commandments on the front entrance to the state capitol. The feds in D.C., along with the ACLU, said it would be a mistake. Hey this is a conservative state, based on Christian values...! HB 1330

Guess what.......... Oklahoma did it anyway.

Oklahoma recently passed a law in the state to incarcerate all illegal immigrants, and ship them back to where they came from unless they want to get a green card and become an American citizen. They all scattered. HB 1804. This was against the advice of the Federal Government, and the ACLU, they said it would be a mistake.

Guess what.......... Oklahoma did it anyway.

Recently we passed a law to include DNA samples from any and all illegal's to the Oklahoma database, for criminal investigative purposes. Pelosi said it was unconstitutional SB 1102

Guess what......... Oklahoma did it anyway.

Several weeks ago, we passed a law, declaring Oklahoma as a Sovereign state, not under the Federal Government directives. Joining Texas , Montana and Utah as the only states to do so.

More states are likely to follow: Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Carolina's, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, West Virginia, Mississippi and Florida. Save your confederate money, it appears the South is about to rise up once again. HJR 1003

The federal Government has made bold steps to take away our guns. Oklahoma, a week ago, passed a law confirming people in this state have the right to bear arms and transport them in their vehicles. I'm sure that was a setback for the criminals The Liberals didn't like it -- But....

Guess what........... Oklahoma did it anyway.

Just this month, the state has voted and passed a law that ALL drivers’ license exams will be printed in English, and only English, and no other language. They have been called racist for doing this, but the fact is that ALL of the road signs are in English only. If you want to drive in Oklahoma , you must read and write English. Really simple.

By the way, the Liberals don't like any of this either

Guess what...who cares... Oklahoma is doing it anyway.
