Does anyone know if RRR is still alive? If so, how's about an address, phone number, or URL? The owner handjob'd a front hub for me when they first started out (around the days of the Manitou EFC) and I want to see if they can handjob a rear and a floaty brake bracket for a 204 Magnum.

does the 204 take that wierd edco hub? I have a spare. I also will be selling my rr rear hub pretty soon.
Really! new or used and how much. Are you in the UK or Washington?

handjob? ha. never seen it in that context before.
Hey, if Cove can call their steel hardtail a Handjob, I think it's open season on the term. Plus, doesn't it make reading a bit more interesting what with the double meaning and innuendoes...lol! You too can be a cunning-linguist :D

You're out of luck with the hub, you're going to either need a new Edco from Tomac/ABG, or you can try and get one rigged up from Hadley. I think a 165 x 15 will fit with a couple of spacers on the axle and to get the brake shimmed over as well. If I recall, the Brake Therapy floater will fit the bike as is. I never felt the need for a floater on my 204, I am a fan of brake squat and having my center of gravity get lower as I enter a corner.

don't forget he may be on the old 204, which is terrible jack instead of squat. floabers are far more necessary
Right. He actually called me a few minutes after my last post and said he has the single pivot, but good call on that one.

James, thanx for the insight into the ride of this frame. I think I'll stay off the floaty till I can figure out this thing out in the corners. If the bike squats down during braking, it'll naturally push the front down so I might not have to get so fwd like I do on the Karpiel. I did a head dabber late this season because I forgot to move up on the Karp. durning a high speed sweeper w/ a cross rutt/drainage. A bit rusty since our ski area just reopend to big bikes (down for 1.5 seasons).
Another question I had was crank arm length. I'm running a 180 on the Karp so I can torque out of slow corners. Will the 204 allow me to run such a long arm or should I be starting to look for something in the 170 range?

You will definitely want a shorter arm. I ran a 170, only because I'm 6'1" and felt like I was spinning the 165s out all the time. That's one of the few things that bugged me about the 204: the swingarm was lined up with a 42t or 44t ring, but the BB was too low to run a 170 crankarm without clearance issues. It made the bike feel more stable all the time, having the BB that low, but it was sort of a pain that you had to push this huge chainwheel without any real option to run 175's if you wanted them. I clipped my pedal a few times with my 170's, but I guess that's the price you pay for trying to sprint through rough sections. Ah racing, makes no sense sometimes.

FYI - Razor Rock hubs are on their way back with one of the original owners but a different manufacturer. I was told prototypes from the new source will be showing up by the first of the year.

I hope they're making some changes and not bringing the hub back exactly as it was . . .
I remember seeing a 20mm thru-xl rear in like a 150 or so. I wonder if it's the same guy who handjob'd that front for me way back and if he'd be into doing another w/ a 165 for the 204...hehe ;)
