Hannebrink's bike has such a wide back end that it used two bottom brackets to more the drive train over far enought to clear the rear. Plus, I seem to recall it using a double reduction gearset, so you'd have the stuper-low gears you need to ride up sand dunes.
I've actually ridden a Hannebrink around quite a bit, and let me just say: an interesting experience. Fun bike, but way too much money for the fun.
